MENTORS

My wife and I were Charter Members of the Ave Maria University's Founders Club of Naples as we shared the University's vision and believed in its mission. It is the same belief that motivates me to become a mentor to students enrolled in the Institute at Ave Maria University. I am most excited about the potential the Institute has for developing intelligent, educated and ethical leaders whose integrity and moral compass are guided by their deeply rooted belief in a good and merciful God and the teachings of his Church.

At Ave Maria University, we recognize our calling as the Church militant to unambiguously promote and share our lived commitment to our Catholic values in every aspect of our personhood; we witness to our living joy in the Truth through our endeavors in both work and recreation. The Institute is a monumental, transformative tool to form our graduates to "battle on the front lines." We are in the business of making disciples!I am excited to serve as a mentor for the Institute because I am passionate about using my unique gifts and charisms to help form disciples. I often find in my work in mentoring and relational ministry that I, too, am fed by the wisdom of our students! I got so much out of AMU, and in many aspects of my life. This school really made me into who I am spiritually, professionally, and personally. I gain a lot of fulfilment out of helping others and I would love to help students gain even more out of their time at AMU. I like the Institute's mission — equipping students to succeed within and outside of school. I have seen this mission as an area of need for AMU and would leap at an opportunity to be part of a solution.

Throughout my career, I have had mentors whom have helped me navigate my career.   I think having one whilst in college or graduate school, it would have been very beneficial.  Being part of a truly Catholic university excites me because it is important to have leaders in industry, academia, or other vocations who are grounded in our faith, which is critical. There are so many challenges we face every day and having someone to talk with is important to personal growth, whether just starting or towards the end of one's career. I like that Ave Maria is grounded in the Catholic faith and has a special devotion to our Blessed Mother. I look forward to becoming a member of this community even in a small way.

Business drives change in our world. As a result, it is important to have people of faith leading those businesses so that change can be good and impactful. It would be an honor if I could do anything, no matter how small, to help prepare the next generation of Catholic leaders.

I'm grateful that Ave is seeking to equip students beyond graduation so that they can share their gifts in more arenas than they may have previously thought open to them.
